Do you make your bed everyday? You should!

Well, do ya?

So yeah, this is my actual bed…this morning…as I left the house. Unmade. Kinda sad looking isn’t it?!

It isn’t because the desire to make my bed isn’t there..mostly its because I know the second I make it, my big ole tank of a puppy, Boogie will just come barreling in and mess it all up. So what’s the point?

Did you know, however, that experts say making your bed everyday is actually a really good thing? True!

Navy Seal William H. McCraven, commander of the forces that led the raid on Osama bin Laden, echoed the same sentiment in his commencement speech at the University of Texas in 2014. He told the grads, “If you want to change the world, start off by making your bed. If you make your bed every morning, you will have accomplished the first task of the day. It will give you a small sense of pride, and it will encourage you to do another task, and another, and another. And by the end of the day that one task completed will have turned into many tasks completed.”

My dad, “Doc” also a navy veteran like Commander McCraven, has a term for this. He says “Success breeds success”. Kick start your day with one small task and the rest will follow.

Do you agree? Do you make your bed everyday?

Brb gonna run home and make mine
