She’s Sliding From Modesto to Pyeongchang!!

Kendall Wesenberg grew up in Modesto, went to Central Catholic High School and then on to the University of Colorado at Boulder.

She’s in the Women’s Skeleton. If you’re unfamiliar with the Skeleton, it’s like the Luge… but on your stomach, head first!!!

Just imagine hurdling down the ice, no brakes, with your chin only inches off the ice, hitting speeds upwards of 90mph and pulling up to 5g in the turns,
all while trying to keep yourself straight and as aerodynamic as possible! WOW!

If you’re following the Olympics, you can watch Kendall do her thing Feb. 16th & 17th.

You can watch the Woman’s training runs February 13th at 7:50am Here.

Go Kendall! Go USA!!!

((long post)) last week the olympic bobsled and skeleton teams were announced and i am very humbled and honored to have been included in that group. we were in our last week of world cup racing so i wanted to focus on that race as well as have time to collect my thoughts before posting as there have been so many emotions that have come with this announcement. first, i want to thank everyone who has reached out and messaged me, tagged me in posts, etc and just say thank you for all of the support. i am sorry if i spaced on responding to some of them but i sincerely appreciate everyone’s congratulations and well wishes. i also want to make sure to mention all of my other teammates. it has been touched on in a couple of posts but i want to reiterate that there are a number of very talented athletes, who have faced their own surgeries, mental battles, and other adversities, who have put it all out there and competed, just like i did and who didn’t get named to the team. these athletes probably won’t get the spotlight that i have received but i want to do my part in making sure that they are acknowledged. i know that everyone has sacrificed so much in our individual attempts at the same goal and i have a lot of respect for anyone who pursues this Olympic dream. and lastly, for now, i want to say thank you to everyone who has been so supportive along this journey. there have been lots of ups and downs in the past 5 or so years but i wouldn’t be where i am if it weren’t for such wonderful coaches, support staff, family, and friends. as i have mentioned in other posts, i have struggled a bit this season and it was definitely not what i had in mind leading into february but the world cup season is now behind us and the big thing i’ve been fighting to have a shot at is still in front of me. so let’s do this thinggg . ?: @mollychoma
