Danny Trejo has been an actor in Hollywood playing badasses (and a few good guys) since 1977. Earlier in life he got in trouble with the law and served some time at San Quentin prison where he entered a 12 step program that he credits with his success in fighting his addiction to drugs. He says he’s been sober for 42 years.
Trejo is a huge fan and supporter of the Los Angeles Dodgers and, as you can see in the photo above, the Los Angeles Rams. He also has a lot of business ventures including “Trejo’s Tacos” which are tasty and sold at various booths throughout the Coliseum on game day. In fact it was on my way to have my tickets scanned yesterday at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum that I ran into noted character actor best known for his role as “Machete” in the Spy Kids movie series (as well as in Machete and Machete Kills) and he was nice enough to take the time to pose for a picture with me.
Couldn’t have been a nicer guy although I have to say I was shocked at how short he was! I’m 6’1 3/4″ so there is no way Trejo could be any taller than 5’7″. Now with all due respect and acknowledgement that he could kick my butt (he was a championship fighter at San Quentin), if the average movie fan saw him look on screen as short as he really is it might be hard to take some of his characters seriously as being as menacing as he portrays. Please no one send him my home address, lol.
