No More Mission Project in School?!?

Mission..Impossible?

Apparently, the new framework from California Public Schools is recommending that teachers stop building replicas of missions and focus more on the trying times people lived through.

WHAT!?!

It’s sort a right of passage for kids and their parents to come up with a creative way to build their chosen mission. Weather it was with popsicle sticks, sugar cubes or a more perfectionists version using a kit from the local craft store it’s a great way for Parents and Kids to get together and learn about history.

Sure life was tough and unfair back then… it still is sometimes. But that’s what history is all about, learning about the past in unique and dynamic ways that help you understand how different life was back then.

After building out mission, my son wanted to make a trip to actually see it.
So we did and we both learned so much more!

And… I got an ‘A’ on the project! … I mean my wife and I got …I mean my Son got an ‘A’… and we were proud of our collaboration.

(Notice the melted crayons on wax paper for the stained glass windows!)
