Every time I see a man or woman in blue…I give them a wave. Always. I want to send them a message that I appreciate what you’re doing. It’s a “Thank you” for what they do. And a way of saying, “Have a nice day!”

A buddy of mine thinks I’m ridiculous and that is NOT the message it sends! He says the officer instantly thinks I’m trying to ACT friendly because I’m guilty of something (speeding, running a red light, fleeing a bank robbery, whatever). He says everybody knows you don’t do ANYTHING when you see a cop. Just keep your eyes forward, slow WAY down and pretend that the cop is invisible.
No way!
My father worked on the fire department for years and was friends with loads of men and women of law enforcement – so maybe I picked up being cordial to them from him. I’m not changing. If I see the men or women in blue – I’m waving.
Should you wave to Police Officers? Or do you keep you head down and go about your business?
Thoughts?
