The Princess and some friends of ours have never been to Alcatraz so I thought it would be fun to go to San Francisco and do the Alcatraz tour.  So I went online to organize it and their completely booked…UNTIL OCTOBER 13th!

My friend said he can’t believe he’s never been to the Rock and that Escape From Alcatraz is the best prison movie of all time.

To which I replied, “I can’t believe you’ve never been either – and…no it isn’t.” 

While it’s a great film – everyone knows Shawshank Redemption is the best prison movie ever. Escape From Alcatraz is great – and it’s based on true events but that doesn’t trump Andy Dufresne’s escape.

Am I right?  Or am I right? If not…What is the best prison movie of all time?
