After eight years…an elementary school principal in North Texas has stopped her tradition of giving students “birthday spankings”.  She made the decision to retire the spectacle after parents complained. It was all done in jest and no students were ever harmed.  Teachers said it was something students used to look forward to.  Something silly and fun to do to celebrate their special day.

So the Birthday Spankings have gone the way of the dodo – much like whoopings for getting outta line…and not just as school.  Parents don’t even distribute that type of punishment anymore.

At the risk of sounding old – my momma used to use a piece of Hot Wheels track.  It was bad enough getting spanked – but it added insult to injury that she would use MY toys to do it!

So lets throw it out there…What did your momma whoop you with?  Did she have a go to like a belt or wooden spoon or did she us a switch from the tree out back.  Not that we condone any sort of corporal punishment – but it’s nice to take a stroll down memory lane. #ILivedIt
