Growing up as the only girl among one older brother and one younger, I learned to adapt quickly to “dude humor”. My dad is pretty special in a lot of ways but his wisdom is truly the stuff of legend. Ever read the book Stuff my dad says?! Well, Doc is kinda like that guy, but cooler! I (and he) thought it would be fun to share with you guys over the next few weeks some gems from his volumes of advice.

Now because my dad was a sailor, some of his words are not fit for print but here are a few I can share and the rest will be “adjusted” hahaha!

They really have helped me be a better person and certainly provided for some serious laughs over the years.

“Don’t be an air thief. Air thieves are people who do nothing to contribute to their family, friends, colleagues, community or country.  They are just stealing your air.”
