This photo has been on the wall of the Morning Show office for years.
Someone asked us who those men were. I told them they are the finest our country has to offer.
More specifically, I believe they are with the 1st Battalion, 184th Infantry Regiment, California Army National Guard.
Some of those soldiers asked if they could have some of our Kat Country 103 Banner to take with them when they were deployed to Iraq.
From what I remember, they took some of the Kat Banner and wrapped it around the top of a water tower at the edge of their operating base. After a long day of patrols, as they were coming back in from the front lines they would see Kat Country 103 high atop the water tower, just like the water tower in Ripon off Highway 99.
They said it reminded them of home.
We were humbled to think that what we do on the radio, in and around the valley, was something that made them feel connected to their hometowns.
I guess you can take the boys out of the Country, but you can’t take Kat Country out of the boys.
