The Central Valley and Bay Area have once again made a Top Ten list we’d rather not be on. Stolen cars. Modesto once claimed the Number One spot for most auto thefts in the country, but Albuquerque must have upped their game and wrestled the top spot away from us, according to a US News and World Report from earlier this year. The report says “with a population of roughly three-quarters of a million people, the Modesto area has one of the highest violent and property crime rates in the country. It ranks No. 99 in the Best Places to Live 2016 ranking, beating out only San Juan, Puerto Rico.”  See the Top Ten list by clicking here.

BTW, I took this photo of a car burning in a field west of Stockton. It’s common for joyriders (and car owners trying to fraudulently claim their auto was stolen) to burn the cars?
