Going to High School at Tracy High, I spent many a summer day with my boyfriend Conor, at Oakwood Lake – Manteca Waterslides. Interestingly enough, we got married and ended up moving just down the street from where one of our favorite summer spots used to be. Driving on 120 recently, I pointed out to our daughters the water slide graveyard where some of the remnants of the old slides have come to rest. It’s sad really. Such great memories. I often wonder why one of the hottest locations in California has not had another water park open near Manteca? Our closest water park locations I believe are Concord, Sacramento or Fresno? So, what are your favorite summer memories of locations like Manteca Waterslides that no longer exist? Or favorite memories about the water slides. And now…where do you take your kids for local summer fun?
