Happy Birthday America! Sing along…

There’s no genre of music more patriotic than Country Music. The freedom of speech that gives us the right to say and sing what we want was given to us by a soldier fighting on the front lines.

One of the songs that bring this sentiment home is Lee Greenwood’s “God Bless The USA” :

And I’m proud to be an American where at least I know I’m free
And I won’t forget the men who died, who gave that right to me
And I’d gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today
‘Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land
God bless the USA!

Even Modesto’s hometown boy Merle Haggard expressed his feelings for America in “The Fightin’ Side of Me”:

Yeah, walkin’ on the fightin’ side of me.
Runnin’ down the way of life,
Our fightin’ men have fought and died to keep.
If you don’t love it, leave it:
