File 13’s “Weak Lawsuit Of The Week”

…Well, it COULD have been a ZOMBIE!     Yes, looks like our winner is 34-year old Southern California tourist Kent Jacobs Boutwell, who’s suing a Las Vegas hotel, now, claiming that he suffered serious injuries while fleeing from a mannequin in his hotel room.

Seems Mr. Boutwell filed the suit this week–against the Planet Hollywood casino-hotel–claiming he was shocked and surprised by a human figure, last year, when he first entered his darkened hotel room.  And as he tried to escape–thinking it was someone there to hurt him–he stumbled, tripped, banged his head and fell to the floor.

Of course, it turned out that the “human figure” was part of the room’s decor–a life-sized mannequin, wearing a “Miller Light” racing suit, locked in a glass cabinet.

But Boutwell’s lawsuit claims that a life-sized human figure in a darkened room is dangerous and hazardous, and that Planet Hollywood should warn its guests about them.  And he wants at least ten grand.

(Suing because he was scared by a mannequin? Two words: stupid dummy.)
