The California Senate is considering a bill that would base the amount of a traffic violation fine on your income. So let’s say you can convince a judge you don’t have the money to pay your speeding ticket, the judge could reduce the fine up to 80 percent. They figure a $400 fine for that guy caught going 100 miles per hour in his Lamborghini on Hwy 99 isn’t that big a deal to him…or at least not as big a deal as a $400 speeding fine would be to you or me. But, then again, I wouldn’t go 100 miles per hour on Hwy 99. And I don’t have a Lamborghini. I will say I’m glad Modesto turned off those red light cameras. So what do you think?
